Australia recorded a total of 763,320kW of solar systems installed in the first quarter of 2025, a nearly 3% decrease compared to the same quarter of the previous year. Of the total solar installations, 77% were in the Residential (0-15kW) category, with Origin emerging as the top installer in this segment. Small-Commercial (15-40kW) installations accounted for 16% while the remaining 7% were in the Medium-Commercial (40-100kW) category, and were predominantly carried out by Sun Retail.
Origin took the lead in the total market share, surpassing Sun Retail with a volume of 37,918kW, representing 4.97% of the market. Formbay Trading remained the top STC trader.
New South Wales saw the highest number of solar panel installations, accounting for 29.5% of the market volume, totaling 224,938kW.
