Australia recorded a total of 656,388kW of solar systems installed in the second quarter of 2025, a 17.32% decrease compared to the same quarter of the previous year. Of the total solar installations, 74% were in the Residential (0-15kW) category, with Sunboost emerging as the top installer in this segment. Small-Commercial (15-40kW) installations accounted for 17% while the remaining 9% were in the Medium-Commercial (40-100kW) category, and were predominantly carried out by Sun Retail and Energy Aware respectively.
Sun Retail took the lead in the total market share, surpassing Sunboost with a volume of 23,244kW, representing 3.54% of the market. Formbay Trading remained the top STC trader.
Queensland saw the highest number of solar panel installations, accounting for 27.7% of the market volume, totaling 181,761kW.
