Australia recorded a total of 782,679kW of solar systems installed in the first quarter of 2024, marking a nearly 3% increase compared to the same quarter of the previous year. Of the total solar installations, 78% were in the Residential (0-15kW) category, with Sunboost emerging as the top installer in this segment. Small-Commercial (15-40kW) installations accounted for 13% and were predominantly carried out by Sun Retail, while the remaining 9% were in the Medium-Commercial (40-100kW) category, with AGL being the primary installer.
Sunboost took the lead in the total market share, surpassing Origin with a volume of 26,362kW, representing 3.37% of the market. Formbay Trading remained the top STC trader.
New South Wales saw the highest number of solar panel installations, accounting for 33.79% of the market volume, totaling 264,469.26kW. Additionally, 5,105kW of installations were completed in the suburbs with the postcode 2765.
