Australia recorded a total of 760.6 megawatts of solar systems installed in the first quarter of 2023, marking an impressive 11% growth compared to the same quarter of the previous year. Of the total installations, 80% were in the Residential (0-15kW) category, with Sunboost emerging as the top installer. Small-Commercial (15-40kW) installations accounted for 11% and were predominantly carried out by Origin, while the remaining 8% were in the Medium-Commercial (40-100kW) category, with AGL being the primary installer.
Origin took the lead in the total market share, surpassing Sunboost with a volume of 24.6 megawatts, representing 3.25% of the market. Formbay Trading remained the top STC trader.
NSW saw the highest number of solar panel installations, accounting for 30.2% of the market volume, totalling 229.7 megawatts.

A small portion of the total solar installations have been completed in ACT with a market share of 3.2%.

Though Tasmania only contributes 1.42% of the market share. Solar installations in the region show a significant increase of 44.30% from the previous year.
