Australia recorded 722.1 megawatts of solar systems installed in the second quarter of 2023, marking an impresive growth of 20% from the same quarter of the previous year. Of the total installations, 81.48% were in the Residential (0-15kW) category, with Origin emerging as the top installer in this segment. Small-Commercial (15-40kW) installations accounted for 12.56% and were also predominantly carried out by Origin, while the remaining 5.97% were in the Medium-Commercial (40-100kW) category, with AGL being the primary installer.
Origin took the lead in the total market share, surpassing Sunboost with a volume of 35.5 megawatts, representing 4.92% of the market. Formbay Trading remained the top STC trader.
NSW saw the highest number of solar panel installations, accounting for 32.54% of the market volume, totalling 235 megawatts.
