The Minns Labor Government has increased the state’s main battery incentive.

- No new PRCs will be issued for battery installations from 1 July 2025 onward.
- Existing certificates created before that date remain valid and can still be traded.

- Capacity: Between 2 kWh and 28 kWh usable storage.
- Warranty: Minimum of 10 years, guaranteeing at least 70% of usable capacity at the end of the warranty period.
- Listed on the Clean Energy Council’s approved products list and compatible with the participating VPP.
- Installation
- Must be installed by an Accredited Certificate Provider (ACP).
- Compliance with Australian electrical and consumer safety standards is mandatory.
